Thank you for taking the time to connect with me. I know choosing someone to assist you in life is an important decision. So, here is where I get a little time to let you know more about me. I started out early, like many people, intensely interested in spiritual practice. I was also hugely curious about love, relationships, creating the ideal life and helping people become what I call the Peaceful Self.
For decades now through my professional counseling practice, best-selling books, retreats, radio programs, and my Soul to Spirit website, I have helped tens of thousands of people live a better and more peaceful life. My clients over the years have run the gamut from the desperate, homeless, and lonely to the rich and powerful. I have seen people in all kinds of living conditions, at all ages, and have realized that in the end, it really is true — what makes life worthwhile is feeling at peace inside yourself. It is also about loving and learning how to be loved in return.
I have also learned that love is not codependency (giving to the point of your own depletion). Love is not lust (focusing only on the outer appearance of others). Love is not addiction (romance and sex addictions included). And, most of all love is not about abuse (attempting to control and over-power others in the “name of love”).
Peace comes as we truly understand what we need to be loved. Peace comes as we know how to cultivate that love. Peace comes from self-acceptance. Peace comes through seeing others clearly and accepting them with discernment (sometimes we stay, sometimes we walk away, but in our hearts the love remains). Peace also comes from qualities we talk about but find at times more difficult to cultivate – gratitude, compassion, loving kindness, being in the present moment, knowing who you really are as a Divine soul living within a human body, who sometimes forgets the beauty, power, wisdom, and courage inside and needs some support to once again find it.
That is my goal. Whether I work with you one-on-one through Skype, on the phone, or in person where I live through regular counseling sessions or helping you through a retreat designed especially for you, I want you to remember who you are as the Peaceful Self. As I work with you then, I hold you in a compassionate space to help you move through the anxiety, fear, frustration, confusion, and hurt by helping you understand why you are experiencing what you are. Then, I show you how to get free from thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that are no longer serving you using primarily what I call the Peaceful Self Process.
